There's a 13 episode anime of Hellsing, and there's the OVAs which are currently being released at a rate of like 1 per 4 months or so.

The OVAs were made because the anime slowly pulled away from the manga and it ends kinda "unconcluded". ...

yeah, but its basically the same story, right?
so theres really no need to watch the anime

Well yeah but lol I just said the anime pulled away from the manga at the end, so you'll get like an unconcluded ending if you choose to watch the anime; but yeah if you're going to take up Hellsing it's best to just stick to the OVAs.

I just started gettin into this series not too long ago,hella awesome for no reason.im gonna torrent the whole series eventually.

I havent actually watched the ova's yet, but I heard they follow the manga a lot more closely then the anime did.

That's true Stark, and as they were making the anime, the manga progressed too slowly, so they just downright diverged from it and created an "alternate" ending, if I can even call that an ending..

man I was so mad today,I had spent about 2 days waitin on episode 4 to finish torrentin and when it finally did finish I find out its Spanish subs...I can't read that!

ahh, I just downloaded the RAW in 1-2 hours and threw on a separate soft-sub file on VLC-media player... but yeah that sucks Don
